Mariavall is situated in the south of Sweden. The community was founded 1957 in the Swedish Protestant Church. When the sisters, in the early 60’s, read the Rule of Benedict they at once felt at home, “it was like entering a fully furnished house”. It contained everything needed. Since then, we have become Catholic and an abbey. From the start guests have always been welcome to share in our prayer life and in the silence of the monastery and surrounding forest.
